Aiden sat in bed, knees up and arms wrapped around as the light of the moon crossed the floor of the dorm. He remembered the first time he saw her in the train and that wildly white hair. Back then it had been more about helping another who clearly was upset, but Aiden now knew it had been the beginning of something special. He wasn't sure what the rest of her family was like, but Aiden knew her better then anyone outside his own family. How could he not? Fast friends from the first moment, she had dragged him into some of the craziest things from climbing walls to hiding in a chandelier (which heaven forbid he should ever repeat again ever). She was a fireball of motion, rarely slowing down and he loved that. A glance beside him at the full clothed (for Ally) sleeping on his covers with a blanket over her. The moon wasn't at her fingertips yet, though close and the image seemed apt to him causing him to smile. It was as if even in her rough sleep (she tended to flail around smacking him upside the head occasionally) she tried to capture the light, always in eternal pursuit. Even since the first night, whenever she was bothered by something, she'd sneak into the boys' dorm and sit up on his bed talking, keeping him awake until she settled down, often sleeping on his bed never suspecting his thoughts for her. Merlin she was beautiful. It wasn't even that she was a girl and beautiful so much as the spirit she had that drew him so. From the first meeting she had proven to be a force of nature convincing him to do things he would never have considered, sneaking around at night for the pure adventure of an idea whether it be snatching a book from the library just for fun or setting up fireworks in a suit of armor to surprise Mrs Norris. Ally was full of ideas, most causing Aiden to seriously consider himself a masochist intent on doing himself severe damage mentally. As he thought of this he leaned over, his fingertips brushing her hair right at the tips extremely softly as if it was spun gold and precious. How did she not see what she meant to him? Would he ever have the guts to tell her how special she really was? How could he when all she talked about was a life of randomness, seeing every corner of the earth and never being tied down? For Ally herself hated the idea of marriage despite her words that her parents were amazing. She could see no one in her future and barely saw him in her present as anything but friend. They had been best friends for so long now he'd gotten even used to her embarrassingly personal moments when she forgot all about what a personal space was and not to invade it like the huns were coming. Laying back down, Aiden pulled his sheets back over himself, laying so he could see the back of her head and the edge of the rainbow sparkled nightshirt she had chosen for tonight which practically lit the way in front of her. He had insisted on her being under his top cover tonight because of the light from it was keeping people awake on Pluto probably he had said. That had pleased her to no end he knew, but it only made him feel wistful now. Even now the sparkle escaping from under the top cover showed off her hair in it's natural pale color this time; he wondered if she let it show for anyone else but him. A sigh and he wished he felt brave enough to rest his hand in it as he went to sleep. But his hands never moved from his own chest.

30 Mar 16, 05:36 PM Ally: She danced into the store, nearly bouncing in her exuberance. The rest of the students were walking around gazing in windows and shopping, but Ally was on a mission. "Hey dad, got your note. What's up?" 30 Mar 16, 05:38 PM Vincent: Finishing up explaining why the young man could not buy a love candle, he glanced at his daughter as she danced across the shop with a grin. "Be right there," he said motioning towards a stool and finishing up with his warning before getting a floor employee to take over. Walking to the back he said to her "How's school going?"
30 Mar 16, 05:46 PM Ally: Ally smirked at the boy, and when she knew she had his attention, she put an extra sway into her hips as she walked away, enjoying the knowledge that he was watching her every move. Perched on the stool a moment later, she considered the question. "Pretty good I guess, same as always." She study his face, but as usual he gave nothing away. 30 Mar 16, 05:48 PM Vincent: Vin quirked an eyebrow up. "Nothing unusual? What's your main amusement these days outside of classes?" He knew her grades were good, that wasn't in question. 30 Mar 16, 05:53 PM Ally: She mentally went through all of the rules she had broken in the last few weeks , but couldn't think of any that might offend him. The amusement question however caught her off guard. "Did one of the teachers send something home?" she asked carefully. 30 Mar 16, 05:57 PM Vincent: He shook his head and chose the chair next to hers and turned putting a leg of his on either side of hers, taking her hands in his. "Not exactly. See, I've heard a bit about your social activity recently and I want to talk to you about that." 30 Mar 16, 06:05 PM Ally: Her eyes widened. "My social..." she had no doubt what he was referring to, but now she was concerned about exactly what he had heard."Heard from who?" If it had been a student there was no telling what he had heard 30 Mar 16, 06:09 PM Vincent: He chuckled. "Oh no, sources get to be kept safe. I enjoy getting to hear about what you do and you remind me a lot of myself in school." He raised a finger however. "Except things are a bit different for you and I want to make sure you get that before this goes much farther." 30 Mar 16, 06:19 PM Sofia: She made a face at him, though not a disrespectful one. "Well, if you heard something from a student its probably an exaggeration" she answered. When he mentioned things being different, she arched a brow. "Because I'm a girl?" 30 Mar 16, 06:23 PM Vincent: He had been expecting the face and she didn't disappoint. Vin chuckled softly. "Of course it's exaggerated. It's you, Ally-love." He ruffled her hair a bit then became a bit more serious. "Only partially. Though you'd better be careful about keeping yourself safe from having kids early or I'll show you what a real punishment is as only I can make one up," he didn't really have to narrow his eyes at her on this, but he did just in case it helped, "but no, I'm talking reputation." 30 Mar 16, 06:26 PM Ally: "Dad!" Here, she was genuinely surprised. "I haven't...not that I don't already know the charm, but I haven't got there yet." She gave him a slightly offended look. "I wouldn't keep that from you." Not the first one anyway. That was big, or so she had been told. She shuddered only half theatrically at the idea of his concept of a real punishment. "Before the nine months are up or after?" She shook her head, realizing now wasn't the time. "I got it, really." Another brow arch, longer this time. "I have your last name" she reminded him. "And Ma's" 30 Mar 16, 06:29 PM Vincent: He nodded. "Good. I always knew you were smart. Keep it up." He patted her leg. "Not exactly what i meant. I had a bad enough rep in school, but you may not have thought about something else about reputations. And the last thing I want is for you to stab yourself in the foot without thinking ahead." He leaned over a bit more, trying to come across more casual. 30 Mar 16, 06:33 PM Ally: Relaxing some, she smiled at him, though she smirked when he mentioned his school reputation. She was familiar with that on all sides. People still talked about the infamous Silver-Moons, especially in Slytherin. She tilted her head, curious. "Stab myself? In what way?" She squeezed his hands. "Serious isn't a good look for you dad, what's bothering you?" 30 Mar 16, 06:37 PM Vincent: Looking her in the eye he got to the point. "Someday there may be someone you find yourself caring for a lot, maybe even someone to spend the rest of your days with." He hesitated then shrugged. "Maybe. We know it's always possible anyway." He held her hands a bit tighter. "Having a lot of lovers before hand, or even just a rep for it, can cause those people to avoid getting too close o you. It's a sort of thing some families warn their kids about. I'd hate for you to finish your experimenting and then realize you scared away the one you actually want." 30 Mar 16, 06:42 PM Ally: She opened her mouth to tell him she wasn't the kind of person to go looking for a lifetime situation with anyone, but she closed it again. It /was/ possible, she reasoned, and did she really want to throw the possibility away completely and develop a reputation for being the kind of person who couldn't be trusted long term? She hesitated, "Mom trusted you though" she argued softly, the one counter argument she had for him. "And she's only ever been with you hasn't she?" 30 Mar 16, 06:46 PM Vincent: he could see her taking the point in, but then she brought up the most imperfect example, possibly because she didn't realize the root of that particular situation. "Your mother didn't spend a year running away from me just because I was a bad boy, Ally, she spent it running because I had a rep for chasing girls and going from one to another." He reached out and touched her forehead right in the middle. "You exist only because I chased her for a very long time. Ask her sometime. She was scared of being used." 30 Mar 16, 06:50 PM Ally: At that moment, Keela poked her head in, took one look at father and daughter and bit her lip just as she had when she was Ally's age. Crossing the room, she leaned down to give Vin a peck and straighten Ally's hair from where her father had mussed it before. She had caught only part of the conversation, but had little trouble discerning the rest. "Best risk I ever took" she said softly. She leaned down and looked into her daughter's eyes. "Be a risk Ally, but be the kind that's worth it." She straightened. "I'm going to get food, want me to bring you both something back?" Ally nodded, "Surprise me" she murmured, but her eyes were thoughtful. 30 Mar 16, 06:54 PM Vincent: Vin caught Keela's hand before she could move away kissing her palm right in the center. "It took a lot of convincing to get her to take a risk too." She moved away and Vin caught Ally's hand and turned her palm up, kissing hers in the middle as well. "And I'm very particular about my personal treasures of which you are one of the most delightful, Ally-love, but I'm serious. I don't want you to ruin the opportunities in the future ou may want. Leave your options open on purpose, don't blow up the bridges, okay?" His eyes looked concerned for her. 30 Mar 16, 06:59 PM Ally: Keela didn't resist when Vin captured her hand, and in fact leaned down to give him a longer kiss than was strictly necessary, causing Ally to look away and her hair to tinge an embarrassed bright pink at the ends. Still, she giggled softly when her father kissed her hand as well. "Aren't you guys getting too old for that?" she complained. Keela winked and left the room. She sighed, conceding the point. "Okay dad" She hesitated, bit her lip in an exact and unknowing imitation of her mother, and finally asked what she considered a very difficult question. "If it hadn't been for Ma..." she glanced away from him. "Would you still have married mom?" 30 Mar 16, 07:06 PM Vincent: He shook his head. "You're never too old to embarrass your children. And I like your mother far too much to tell her no either." he winked. Her question was, to him, a very expected one though he wasn't sure she ever would have asked out loud. "Certainly, though it would have taken me a lot longer, cost me a lot more pain and trouble, and the pursuit would have taken years longer. No, waiting till much longer would have been a mistake. Too often after school you never see those people again. You think you will be always friends and then they are gone for years and you wonder what happened to them..." He shook his head with a sigh. "Its a very different world after graduation." 30 Mar 16, 07:08 PM Ally: Ally was torn. On the one hand, she had expected something like his answer. On the other it was an odd thing to think that a terrible curse was a major part of the reason she existed. She went quiet, which was extremely rare for Ally if she wasn't asleep. Her eyes were far away and contemplative, which was even more so. 30 Mar 16, 07:11 PM Vincent: She went quiet and he frowned. Reaching out he picked her up under her arms and pulled her into his lap, looking in her eyes directly. "Listen up, lovely one, there's a truth you have not learned yet which I think you are ready for. Your brother doesn't know this and I think probably won't ever need to know. That curse wasn't a curse, but a powerful magic twisted to a wrong end." 30 Mar 16, 07:19 PM Ally: He picked her up, pulling her close, and while she normally would have said something about being too old for it, she didn't fight him this time. When he spoke, it was as if he was reading her mind, as she had often thought he might be capable of. Still, when he spoke of the curse, her eyes widened dramatically. "Not a...what do you mean not a curse?" she asked him very softly. 30 Mar 16, 07:23 PM Vincent: He shook his head. "No. And don't repeat this to anyone except your gran, you hear?" Once she nodded he said "It was an unbreakable vow. He tricked her into agreeing that she would never go against his orders in her lifetime. And then on his death bed he trapped her with wording which made her either have to keep having kids or die till she had a boy with the right last name. It was a rough time for her, but much rose then a normal curse might have been." 30 Mar 16, 07:31 PM Ally: "Yes sir" something else she didn't say very often. Her parents weren't big on propriety for propriety's sake as long as she was respectful. "An unbreakable..." she broke off suddenly. "So did you fulfill it, or did Luc?" 30 Mar 16, 07:34 PM Vincent: He shrugged. "That's the nasty part I guess. Mom was never sure i it was possible to finish it nor how far the magic would accept it. I might have, your brother might have, or maybe neither of us have and we're just extending her life. Because it's not a curse it's sort of too open ended. We think she's safe, but we'll never really know till she passes on some day naturally." He rubbed the back of his head. "I have not spoken to your brother about it yet. Figured I would wait till he found someone if he does." 30 Mar 16, 08:11 PM Ally: Something tugged at the back of her mind, but she didn't look at it too closely just yet. "So as long as the Moon line keeps going, Ma is safe?" Her eyes widened, "but...aren't we technically the only Moons?" What if Luc didn't have kids? The gears started turning. She nodded. "But what if he doesn't..? Or doesn't have kids?" Her voice was small, worried. "If my kids had my last name, would it work?" 30 Mar 16, 08:22 PM Vincent: he waggled a hand back and forth. "That's what we think right now. It's not something that we can find out from magic experts about or talk about without giving away who it's about see?" He nodded, seeing the idea percolating in her head even before she voiced it out loud. A twist of his mouth even before she had the whole thing out. "Well the idea here is that if he just lives a long time so the possibility he can have kids is out there it might be enough, The problem is we really don't know for sure on anything." A shrug and he hugged her tightly whispering in her ear "Ally love, never do something for another if it changes your whole life. Only do it if you really want to, do you hear me? Your gran really loves you and yes she wants grandkids, but don't run full into the breach just because of that, alright?" He gave her the eye, seeing what she was thinking and knowing how attractive it would sound to her. "At least wait to decide till you find a guy who would give you kids you would really enjoy having for life, okay?" 30 Mar 16, 08:31 PM Ally: "Right" she nodded, remembering. She listened when he spoke, and bit her lip again. "Not likely" she mumbled, wrinkling her nose. "I doubt I'll ever get married" she said thoughtful. "But I guess we'll see."
